Sparklers Sorted At Project Rock Nights
You’ve found your soul mate, you want to grow old with her and you’re confident that the feeling is mutual. Why then, does the mere thought of proposing scare the bejesus out of you?
Hatton Garden’s Star Jewellers endeavoured to answer this very question in a recent survey. Unsurprisingly, 90% of respondents admitted to feeling nervous about proposing, and for 75% of this group, the biggest fear was that she’d dislike their choice of ring. All interviewees confessed to knowing diddly squat about buying diamond rings, and yet most liked the idea of surprising the Mrs with the perfect sparkler.
Proposing with a ring is the Daddy of all romantic gestures, but it’s frequently abandoned when the huge array of jargon, styles, designs and prices becomes overwhelming. All too often, engagement ring shopping is reduced to being just another joint task on the endless wedding planning ‘to do’ list.
Happily, Star Jewellers are putting this right by hosting a series of ‘Project Rock’ evenings from April 21st where blokes can learn about the ‘4 Cs’: Cut, Carat, Colour and Clarity. (Plus that crucial 5th C – Cost). These relaxed, informal sessions will give you the help you need to choose the perfect ring, as well as the chance to meet some like-minded blokes who share your fears. You can kick off a bromance, bond over a beer and swap wedding horror stories. Star Jewellers’ studio is popular with numerous celebrities, including James Nesbitt, Rachel Stevens and Sara Cox, so you can name-drop like mad when you get home. Sorted. Now you can scare yourself witless about something else, like how to ask her Dad’s permission.
On a positive note, Star Jewellers’ research did unearth some good news. 95% of women said that size really doesn’t matter… when it comes to engagement rings. Style, subtlety and quality does matter, however.
