Britain’s Favourite Wedding Car

Wondering which wedding car to hire? If you want to ferry the whole wedding party together, then a stretch, SUV orhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/25251822@N07/ classic limo is a great choice as they can seat a fair few people (unless you’re all exceptionally lardy and/or the bride’s wedding attire is the mother of all meringues).

Which to choose, though? Weddings offer limitless potential for mini catastrophes, so you could do a lot worse than play it safe when it comes to the motor. With that in mind, the most popular wedding car according to a recent survey conducted by limo hire company, Limo Broker, is the Rolls Royce Phantom.

Retailing at over £250,000 and hitting 0-60mph in 6 seconds, the Phantom boasts a swish entertainment system (complete with DVD player and plasma screen), rear climate control, volume control and electric window buttons, which are all mounted on a special panel in the door. Very flash, we think you’ll agree, even if parking’s gonna be a bitch.

Don’t take our word for it, though. Jeremy Clarkson, proud owner of big hair and even bigger opinions, has described the Phantom as “the best-engineered car ever made”, “supremely comfortable” and “utterly and fabulously exquisite.” Praise indeed. Although, strangely, he does go on to say that the mighty Phantom “looks like it might kick your head in, for fun. Especially in black. In a pale colour or silver, it looks like Vinnie Jones in one of Graham Norton’s T-shirts.” Vinnie and Graham, eh? Who’d have thought it…
