The Top 10 Most Unique First Dance Songs

Choosing that first dance tune is a big decision, alright. It’s not easy to find that one special song that can encapsulate http://www.flickr.com/photos/uwdigicollec/with/2232415707/your feelings in a meaningful and moving way. There’s a fine line between sentimental and schmaltzy, and humour can be such a personal thing. (Ahem).

If power ballads leave you cold and you’d prefer something more unusual, then you’re in luck. Last month, Hallmark Cards launched a search for the most unique or unusual first dance wedding song as part of its ‘weddings and anniversaries month’. During the last few weeks, hundreds of folks have added their suggestions to Hallmark’s Facebook and Twitter pages and the results have now been announced.

Are you ready? Good oh. Here are Hallmark’s top ten unique first dance songs. Brace yourselves…

·       D.I.V.O.R.C.E; Dolly Parton
·       The Lady in Red; Chris de Burgh
·       I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For; U2

·       Paranoid; Black Sabbath

Firestarter made it! Brilliant, I voted for that. Go Hallmark.

Well, this will be a valuable resource for years to come. Love it.

We have a string quartet arrangement of “Lady in Red” in our collection that *is* very popular! ;-)

I recently played “When A Man Loves A Woman” for a first dance at a wedding (again, as a part of a string quartet). I can’t *stand* the song, but you know what? It sounded quite good in the different format, and the B&G were happy, and their guests thought it was properly cute. Awwwwww!!

I wait with breath that is baited for the day when someone requests a Prodigy song or Copacabana. *crosses fingers*
