Blog – Sex, Lies And Videotape

While amidst planning for the biggest day of your life, an option comes about that seems like an unnecessary use of your budget. Should you and your partner for life (God willing), have a videographer film your wedding day? A tough question to answer with so many pros and cons, however I plan on solving this conundrum with ElmanAdam Films’ top 5 reasons to have a wedding film.

Number 1, brides and grooms love their wedding films!  No matter how bad a wedding has been for us to shoot, each time we hand over their DVD’s, the couple overwhelms us with compliments on how much they enjoyed our edit!  This is where I would usually compliment our company on a job well done, but I have come to the conclusion that the real reason they love it so much is, people LOVE watching themselves. I can assure you, it will be the same for you.

Number 2, you will never plan for another day as much as you plan for your wedding day. On the contrary, according to a statistic I made up for this post, brides and grooms are unable to remember 95% of what happened on the day of their wedding (stat © 2009 ElmanAdam Films). So it seems almost illogical to not have a videographer film your wedding, so as to assist you in remembering how great it really was.

Number 3, your soon to be wife will never look as beautiful as she does on that day. Better to film it then, so you can pull it out in years to come and remind yourself why you made this great decision.

Number 4, your wedding film is a nice gift for those guests you conveniently forgot to invite. In this day and age, your wedding videographer will most certainly post a highlight reel of your big day on their blog for you to show off to your friends and family. This will allow you to smooth over those uninvited relationships you’ve destroyed by simply inviting them to see what fun they missed. Believe us, it works!

Lastly, but not leastly, the number 5 reason you should have a wedding videographer is something big is going to happen that day. From your best man crying like a baby as he pours out his heart about how proud he is to be your bud, to the first time you and your beautiful husband/wife dance the forbidden mamba, each moment is timeless. You will never get these moments back, UNLESS someone is there to film them.

Great article, agree with everything you said, especially the bit about how much brides and grooms love their wedding videos.
