Real Stags: Tudor

Craig Morris Jun 2011 No Comment Bookmark or Share

Some of you might know this week’s real stag from the Staggered forums, where he is better known as TudorVII and where we’ve been following his progress for a while now.

Here we finally get to see how his stag (and the RvBHRLAHDG*) panned out.

Groom: Chris Tudor

Best Man: Dave “Mullet” Tudor

Stags: Darren Peacock, James Stokes, Ollie Mitchell, Greg Wilding, Joe Hardwick, Johnny Fisher and Ash Gale.

Where did you go?

We took a trip down to Newquay for the weekend, staying at St. Chrstopher’s Inn. Wasn’t the most glamourous accomodation, but you get what you pay for, and the staff were really friendly.

FYI, the banner said "Lads on Tour" though it didn't last long once we hit the motorway.

Where did you drink?

Uh, anywhere and everywhere. My brother had his stag do in the same location a couple of years ago, so I knew it’d be a good drinking hole. If there was a short queue outside, we muscled our way inside and straight to the bar.

What activities did you do – anything you’d recommend?

There wasn’t any time for activities by the time everyone arrived on the Friday and we were all feeling a little tender the morning after, but we managed to get in some mini-golf, as well as cricket on the beach.

So, if I had to recommend something for a coastal stag weekend: just grab a crate of beer and head to the beach with some sports equipment. Just remember that some people may be too delicate for rugby.

Let us in on the stag-do in-jokes

Not exactly a joke, but our drinking game* consisted of a number of challenges, some of which meant getting involved with other people just trying to have a night out. I got some weird looks when we started doing the YMCA dance to a Black Eyed Peas tune.

*Tudor’s stag-do drinking game, the ‘RvBHRLAHDG’ or ‘Red vs Blue Halo Real Life Achievement Hunter Drinking Game’, is based on the achievement scoring system on XBOX360 and the HALO game series. You can find a full (and long) list of rules on the Staggered forum. If you try it, be sure to let us know how it goes.

How much did the whole do cost?

All in all, I think the average cost was between £150 and £200, though some people who decided to buy far too many drinks for other people may have gone over that. One of our guys literally had £10 in his bank account; luckily he got a loan from someone else in the group.

Who gets the award for Drunkest Stag?

Ollie by a landslide. He peaked far too early in the night but it just made the rest of us eager to catch up.

What’s the most embarrassing story you can share?

When we got back to the room in the early hours of Saturday morning, my future brother in law was passed out on the floor in just his boxers because someone else stole his bed.

What’s the story you definitely can’t tell?

What the name of my date for the evening was, and what we did with her body. Only because I actually can’t remember.

Staggered says:

Proving that invention wins over budget any day and that your stag-do will be as fun as you and your friends make it: Tudor, the Master Chief of the stag, we salute you.
