Lessons In Love From The Iranian Government

Planning and executing the perfect proposal might seem like a daunting ordeal, but it’s a piece of cake compared to the hoops that Iranian suitors are going to have to jump through before getting down on bended knee.thegoldguys.blogspot.com

Prior to popping that all-important question, Iranian men will soon have to earn a government-approved qualification to prove that they’re prepared for marriage. Make no mistake, there’s a lot of hard graft awaiting these blokes before they can enjoy the fun stuff like the stag-do and splashing out on a killer wedding suit and accessories.

Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is keen to tackle the declining Iranian marriage rates, as well as the increasing divorce rates, and so potential grooms will now have to complete a three-month online course of pre-nuptial training, The Guardian reports. Apparently, in Tehran alone, one in four marriages ends in the d-word.

Designed to prepare young people for the highs and lows of married life, the courses will include weekly exams and will be run by the state-governed National Youth Organisation. Candidates who successfully complete the course will be presented with a certificate as proof of their readiness and eligibility for matrimony.

According to Mohsen Zanganeh, the head of the National Youth Organisation for Tehran province, “we intend that within the next two years, if a boy attempts to woo a girl, she will answer only if he has finished his course.”
