Ok, so wedding fairs aren’t necessarily up there in your top ten list of ways to spend an enjoyable weekend, but how about one that offers a tour of Concorde?

concorde wedding fair It would be fair to say that for many a groom, the prospect of being dragged around yet another wedding fair is about as enticing as slamming their fingers in the car door. Admittedly, the food and booze freebies aren’t bad and there’s a certain about of fun to be had sniggering at the male models, but it seems to be mainly the ladies who regard these exhibitions as a genuinely fulfilling experience (not that we think that’s the way it should be, of course).

If you fancy a butcher’s at supersonic national treasure, Concorde, whilst earning an unprecedented number of brownie points, then why not surprise the Mrs by suggesting a trip to a wedding fair? The County Brides Concorde Wedding Show takes place this weekend at Manchester Airport’s Concorde Hangar and the freebies include a complimentary copy of the latest County Brides magazine for the Mrs.

Naturally, there are all the usual exhibitors that you’d expect at a wedding show (wedding suits, photographers, honeymoons etc.) but the stand-out attraction has got to be the tours of Concorde that are running throughout the show, where you can actually board the legendary aircraft. You might even be able to sort out your wedding venue whilst you’re at it. Concorde is fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and holds a limited number of weddings and civil partnership ceremonies on board each year.

The Concorde Wedding Show takes place on Saturday, 6th March (11.00am to 5.00pm) and Sunday, 7th March (11.00am to 4.00pm) at the Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester Airport Aviation Viewing Park, Sunbank Lane, Altrincham, M90 1QX. Tickets cost £3.00 per person and you can download a free car parking voucher.
