Real Grooms: Dan Sweryt
If you’ve read the site at all in the last six months you’ll know the name Sweryt (rhymes with ferret if you were wondering), and that’s because Dan’s been documenting his journey up to his wedding, so we thought the very least we could do is have a look for ourselves and see just how pink it actually was…
Your Name: Dan Sweryt
Age: 33
Bride’s name: Mrs Dan. Oh, alright then, Caroline.
Where did you get married? Barnett Hill, Wonersh, Surrey.
Best man and ushers: Mark Fletcher, Richard Hannam, Brendan Banger, Kevin Nurse
Where was your stag do – any scars? A Bank Holiday weekend in Milton Keynes, doing wet things on a lake, go-karting and visiting all their Wetherspoons. All neatly documented in three parts in a Staggered blog.
What did the men wear on the day? We hired everything from Moss Bros, as the best man/ushers were from literally North (Leeds), South (London), East (Ipswich) and West (Birmingham). It was easier to get fitted at local branches and have them delivered to Guildford for us to pick up the Thursday before the wedding.
The trousers and jackets are mix and matched from their Tops’n'Tails ranges. We didn’t go for the top hats as the best man looks ridiculous when he’s eight feet tall! Cufflinks and socks provided by the bride as a surprise on the morning of the wedding.
What three pieces of advice could you give to other grooms going through the wedding process now?
1) The wedding planner we hired on the day was awesome. She kept all the trouble away from us and dealt with everything well away from us.
2) The photographer will annoy you. Whoever you go with. Fact.
3) Write a blog for Staggered. The process is incredibly cathartic for all that stuff you can’t say to your bride-to-be’s face! Oh, and read mine. The advice is useless but at least it’s funny.
A word for the lady, come on, say something emotional about your bride…
Mrs Dan is my perfect woman and I love her with all my heart. I love her most of all because she loves me. And I love her despite the fact she watches ITV2.
Staggered says: awesome. So proud to see one of our bloggers doing the deed and scrubbing up very well in the grey Moss Lingfield line. And despite what he says we think the pink works well with the grey and doesn’t look like a “lazy, semi-colour.” Our best wishes to Mr and Mrs Sweryt.
