Dave Spikey Joins Staggered!

Andrew Shanahan Apr 2010 4 Comments Bookmark or Share

We’re feeling very smug here at Staggered because one of Britain’s finest stand-ups has just joined the team. Dave Spikey (yes, that Dave Spikey) who has written for Staggered before, has agreed to help Staggered readers with their wedding speeches.

That’s pretty big news we think, so let’s just ponder that for a moment – a double British Comedy Award Winner, Royal Television Society winner and BAFTA nominee – helping you with your wedding speech. Never let it be said that Staggered don’t pull out all of the stops for their readers.

Dave’s going to be writing a monthly column for us highlighting problems that readers are having and suggesting some comic solutions for them. So if you’re a best man trying to make something funny, a groom who wants a laugh alongside the thank-yous, or a father of the bride who needs to balance the emotion of your speech with some jokes then email your problems to Dave.

That is wonderful! I have a wedding speech to compose for next month and I was at a loss for ideas – now I know that the ‘Spikey man’ is there to help inspire me. That’s very cool. Thanks for great service.

I helped a buddy muddle through with ideas, and wrote it for him thinking in his shoes. In the middle of the chore, I checked a quotations book and the net for ideas. If this is your predicament, I don’t envy you. I had him practice the hell out of it, so he did well, and got compliments.

This is a service to pay for, so go for it!
