Nothing denotes a stag party quite so clearly as a set of matching T-shirts. THE CLASSIC

The plainest and simplest of the stag T-shirts carries the basic, need-to-know info and usually looks like it’s been done on Microsoft Word. The text runs as follows: NAME of stag, DATE of the do, PLACE of the carnage. It’s the Joe Friday of the T-shirt world: just the facts, ma’am. Nothing wrong with it per se, but it’s a bit boring. A pocket-sized print on the front and large print on the back is a good option for the reluctant stag shirt wearer too – it’s the stag shirt that apologises for itself.

THE ANTLERED GROOM

We like this one. Take one photo of the groom (preferably pulling a funny face), add a pair of stag’s antler’s and voila – a super-surreal stag T-shirt that’ll be a great memento of the day. If you’re no whiz on Photoshop, there are companies who’ll do the photo fiddling for you.

THE FOOTBALL SHIRT

Here’s a good option for the football obsessed stag – you can have footie shirt-style tops printed with stag info in place of the sponsor and everyone’s hilarious nicknames on the back, like this delightful example from motifs.co.uk. Team colours are likely to cause some arguments in the group, so go for something non-specific or your national team.

THE ‘DON’T DO IT!’ SHIRT

Turn what should be a happy occasion into a chance for merciless ribbing by convincing the groom he’s throwing his life away. Think: a picture of him in jail, or a shirt saying ‘Under New Management’.

KITSCH ANIMAL IMAGE T-SHIRTS

They’re like, sooooo on trend right now. So why not get yourself a T-shirt with an artistic rendering of a stag on it? Or a stag beetle. Those are pretty much your two options. The pictured example is from US store zazzle.com.
