Spy Games Launches Smash-And-Grab Heist Stag-Do
So the groom’s already tried his hand at paintballing and he wants yours truly, the best man, to up the ante for his last weekend of
freedom. If he fancies himself as a budding action hero, then check out The Snatch.
It’s the latest activity for stag weekends on offer from espionage events specialists, Spy Games, and this movie-style mission lets you play out your film fantasies in style.
The Snatch is a ‘simulated raid experience’, in which stag parties attempt to hold up a prison van to spring free a fellow gang member, or make off with a bag stuffed with ‘spy dollars’. Armed with (blank) firing guns, ski masks and nifty black outfits, stag parties are split into ‘gangs’ and trained in weapons and tactics before planning and implementing their own smash-and-grab raid. The scenario can also be souped-up with a helicopter getaway and even intervention by mock police, depending on how many readies you’ve got in the stag-do coffers.
Spy Games’ head honcho, Dave Thomas, took inspiration from the de Niro and Pacino crime thriller, HEAT. Determined to make the experience as realistic as possible, he added pyrotechnic effects and a genuine former prison van, complete with secure cells. Says Dave: “This activity has proved extremely popular with stag parties during the trialing stages and it gives the stag the chance to lead his gang. It’s probably the most intense scenario we’ve ever developed.”
Other espionage-themed stag-do ideas on offer from Spy Games include diamond heists, car chases, spy hunts, escape and evasion, hostage rescues, laser combat and pistol shooting.
