Moss Bros Goes Bespoke
Longing for a bespoke suit for your Big Day but thwarted by a decidedly slimline wedding budget? Your wish is
granted, courtesy of favourite formal wedding attire supplier, Moss Bros. It’s launching a chain of stores selling affordable, bespoke mens wedding suits in a bid to substantially undercut traditional tailors.
The first shop will be launched in the City of London in June. Customers will have their measurements taken in store and can choose from a range of options for the cloth, cut and lining. The suit will be made in China and delivered four weeks later. The suits will retail at between £250 and £350 and Moss Bros reckon they will be the cheapest made-to-order suits available.
Chief executive Brian Brick told The Times: “I saw in China, about seven years ago, the germ of an idea that you would be able to make a suit, made-to-order, at an affordable price. There is a cottage industry, very much internet-based. But the volume we can put in is completely different. In a way, we’re breaking new ground.”
Suits you, Sir.
