For Sale: World’s Most Expensive Wedding Suit
We do love a good bargain here at Staggered HQ. Pouring readies down the drain just doesn’t float our boat. That said,
your wedding day is one of the biggest events of your life and if there was ever a time to splash out, then this is it.
So, with treats in mind, do you fancy pushing that boat out on the mens wedding suits? Goody. I trust you’ve got a cool £600,000 to spare, then? Hailed as the ‘ultimate in luxury fashion’ by its Liverpool-based designer, the world’s most pricey bespoke suit has just gone on sale and cheap it is not.
According to the Telegraph, the dark grey, wallet-busting suit is made with cashmere, wool and silk, took more than 600 hours to produce and boasts almost 500 embedded diamonds, totalling 24 carats. It’s described by designer, Stuart Hughes, as “…a timeless classic which is also comfortable and wearable.” For over half a million squid, I should ruddy well hope so. Now that is what you call fancy wedding attire. Perhaps not surprisingly, only three suits have been made; a French buyer has forked out for the first one already, in a size 41.
In case you’re harbouring any dark thoughts towards Mr. Hughes and his inaccessibly priced suits, let it be known that he’s actually a charitable sort at heart; 10% of sales are heading to the Haiti relief fund.
Blown the budget on posh accessories or suits? Tell the forum about your prized purchases. And don’t forget it’s alternative wedding wear week here at Staggered.
