The modern stag do has seen many changes but one of the most controversial is that the dads are now on the do. So what do you think? Should they be allowed, or is your do a dad-free zone?

Dad's at the do – bad, very very bad, especially if it's hers.

My dad came on my brother's. To be fair, my dad's more fun than my brother when drunk, but he did get a bit worn out, bless him.

Depends on the dad, but I think a good idea is what my mate did – a seperate 'Dad Stag'.  The Groom, his Dad, Brides Dad, Brides brother and two best men went to the rugby and did a bit of bonding/getting hammered and talking rubbish, but the dads didn't have to witness the unpleasentness of the stag proper.

I think a Dad's Stag-Do is a great idea – am not sure my or my other half's Dad's could last a proper Stag do.

Love the idea of a Dad-Stag too – esp. as my useless Brother probably won't make it to my proper one either.

It does depend a lot on the Dad (and the location!) tho – been on a Bristol-pub-crawl stag with a late-40's Dad in tow and he was great quality. But I wouldn't dream of dragging my over-65 Dad out to a tough weekend in Berlin!

My dad (and father-in-law) and several members of the Golden Generation came on mine. My dad drank two bottles of red wine and went off trying to shag a neighbouring hen-do. This was before 8pm. The rest of were well-behaved and good value for money.

I'm now firmly in the do a separate do for the dads. It's the best excuse for a few really fun weekends, why try and pack everything into one?

And here's a cunning ruse. When your Mrs is scratching her head about what to get the ushers and best men for gifts tell her you'll sort it. Then buy you all tickets for the sporting/musical event of your choice. That way, you're ticking something off the to do list (= Brownie Points) and setting yourself up for another fun weekend after the wedding is done. If she complains tell her that it's important that you let your friends know you'll still be there for them after you're married. See if you can cry a bit at this point. Who knows, she might even believe you.
