OfflineFor this reason, I think there's a fair call to have the speeches as early as possible (maybe before the wedding breakfast)?

The fact that the speeches come after the wedding is proof that women have had far too much influence on planning because it sucks for the blokes to have them after the meal. I love public speaking because I'm a bit of a show pony but nerves definitely made me skip the meal and booze a bit before the speeches.
My advice would be to do them before the meal or wait until the evening and do them in front of all the guests.
