Free tour around HMS Warrior in Portsmouth?

Well, my partner and I were looking for a venue on the south coast.  And HMS Warrior in Portsmouth popped up as an unusal venue.

So we phoned them, said they were considering them as a venue, and they said we could come a look around this historic ship (usual price £19.80 – overpriced IMHO) for FREE.

Saving £39.60.  You can't get married there before 5.15 if you want a reception in the evening, and the stairs are a deathtrap to an elderly relative, but it's well worth a look around.

Anyone else got any good freebies out there?

Simon

Fucking hell. It'd take more than a free trip round the HMS Replica to get me to even consider getting married in Portsmouth.

Yes, I'm back. And I'm hungover Frown

Hi Simon – ignore Pete, he's like the Oscar the Grouch of our wedding forum. By which I mean he lives in a bin and has probably recently had someone's hand up his *rse.

As for wedding-related freebies – I spent about a year fake proposing to my now wife in various restaurants because they'd then give us free booze. To be fair, we were lethally poor at the time but quite often as we drive around Manchester we'll point out several restaurants to our children and say, "that's where daddy proposed to mummy, again."

Then we'll laugh to ourselves and get drunk. And I'll propose.

I'll put together a blog about it when my brain has reassembled. I've also got a couple of venue suggestions for the Stag City Guide.

Let's not further hijack Simon's perfectly decent thread though, particularly in light of my unprovoked and unnecessary attack on his potential wedding venue Laugh

HMS Warrior looks cool and sounds cool. They're on our map, and they have an exclusive discount for Staggered readers http://www.iamstaggered.com/suppliers
