There's an entire industry that revolves on that "truth" alone.
I can't speak for any women out there but if a woman gave me a sparkly rock then I would almost certainly sleep with them. There, I said it. I'm a harlot.

Well, it pretty much goes like this.
If a man buys a woman a diamond, it's pretty likely he's already gone to bed with her. If he hasn't and buys her a rock, he's either a fool or Orthodox (in which case, she won't be doing anything with him until after the wedding).
But if a random guy I was not in love with/attracted to/had something in common with/enjoyed being with/ wanted to spend my life with bought me a diamond, would I sleep with him?
No.
I'd rather buy my own jewelry and sleep only with those who turn me on. And if I do feel all of those things for a man, he won't need to buy me something flashy to have me jumping all over him.
But hey, that's just me.
