YouTubery: wedding bloopers

In which Staggered channels our inner Dennis Norden and says, It’ll be alright on the wedding night…

HORIZONTAL FAIL

During the wedding ceremony, there’s not much for the various parties to do except stand up and repeat a few words. Shame, then, that the many stars of this clip can’t seem to stay vertical. Timberrrrrrrrr!

LOL rating: gigglez

MUSICAL FAIL

Don’t want to shell out on a live musician to play the Wedding March? You might think twice when you see this clip, in which the CD skips as the bride is mid-aisle. The guests save the day by humming the rest of the tune, but we think they should have added a beat and called it a techno remix.

LOL rating: nasal snort

HYDRO FAIL

Attempting to hand the rings over, the best man trips, falls and sends the bride head first into a conveniently placed pool. The cynical among us would say this one’s a set-up, because the comic timing is worthy of slapstick masters The Three Stooges.

LOL rating: slight chuckle

MOBILE PHONE FAIL

Here’s a staunch reminder of why you should deactivate your mobile phone during the ceremony – in a moment of quiet prayer, one guest’s phone goes off. His ringtone? Snoop Dogg’s Gin And Juice. From tha Chuuuch to da Palace would have been better…

LOL rating: wry smile

POLE DANCE FAIL

It’s hard-wired into many women’s DNA to believe they’re expert pole dancers after a drink or two. The woman at this marquee wedding feels the urge to prove it, but – crucially – makes the mistake of using a structural pole. The camerawork looks like the Blair Witch Project, but props for keeping rolling in the ensuing chaos.

LOL rating: a guilty belly laugh

WEDDING BRAWL FAIL

Given the presence of alcohol and a group of people who may well have some old beef to chew over, fights are a fairly common occurrence at weddings. This video, from Russia, is in a different league, bordering on a full-scale riot. Wonder if someone looted the cake?

LOL rating: If you lol at this, you’re probably a cagefighter

DRINKING FAIL

It’s meant to be a cute photo-op of the bride and groom linking arms and drinking champagne. In the event, it looks like two chimps trying to solve a Rubik’s cube.

LOL rating: snigger

FIRE FAIL

Attempting to serve a tray of what can only be described as Flaming Moes, the bride in this clip inadvertently sets fire to her wedding dress when surprised by a moth. Yes, a moth. I mean, sure, she was promised a hot night…

LOL rating: chortle

WEDDING VOWS FAIL

When the groom pronounces “lawfully” as “wawfuwwy”, the bride is caught by a killer case of the giggles. “I’ve been scared of this all my life,” says the poor fellow.

LOL rating: lower than the bride’s

FACEBOOK FOOL

This groom updates his Facebook relationship status at the altar. OMGz I HAZ WIFE NOW!!!1111

LOL rating: an un-lol. Do not repeat this man’s action
