Win Digital Security For Your Wedding Memories

admin Aug 2010 57 Comments Bookmark or Share

Getting married is (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience, so you’ll probably want to remember it and that means photos and videos. After the wedding you’ll not only have a very precious photo album to keep safe but hundreds of digital images and movie files that you’ll want to keep forever.

Unfortunately, we all know how rubbish computers can be from time-to-time and that’s why we are very pleased to team up with Carbonite to offer 10 readers a one year subscription to their automatic online backup service.

Just install Carbonite on your computer and it will automatically back up your files and any new ones you create. Should you lose your data, you can restore it in a few clicks.

What’s more, Carbonite offers unlimited backup so all your photo albums, music collection and documents can be stored with no additional charges.

We’ve been having a good sniff around this product and so far it looks like an absolute winner.

So if you want to win a subscription just bung a comment below and feel free to tell us what you’ve lost. The 900th person to say “their marbles” will be taken into an alley and beaten.

I’ve lost my will to live this week as I’m beginning to think that the world is full of imbeciles & if you want something doing you have to do it yourself. The post office have lost an ipod that I sold on ebay. My opthalmologist says I have to get my prescription steroid eye drops from my GP but my GP refuses & says I have to get them from my opthalmologist so in the meantime I am in agony. My boiler failed it’s service due to ventilation but the gas fitter who came to fit the new vent told me it should have passed but my insurance company won’t let me continue my policy if I don’t pay the £100 to have the new vent fitted. My dishwasher door broke & that company no longer make table top dishwashers & no other company makes one that will fit in the small space I have so I have to tape the door shut with duct tape & to top it all off I’ve trapped a nerve in my back so…GRRRRRRR HEEELLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!

I don’t really lose much tangible stuff, luckily I haven’t acquired the ‘loser’ gene from my Mum – my brother did though.

I did lose all mine and my other halfs holiday pics though, the only holiday we’ve been on in the 6 years together, when my old PC died a horrible spluttering death. That’ll teach me not to back up.

I lost all feeling in both of my arms while I was sleeping. Funniest thing is trying to get out of bed when both of your arms are a dead weight flopping about with no real purpose. Naturally the blood flows again and if by magic I can use them again. But for a time it was lost!

When my desktop computer went wrong (and silly me hadn’t backed it up – duh!) I lost everything that was stored on it, hundreds of digital photos I hadn’t got round to printing off, loads of CD albums I’d spent ages downloading (and then promptly sent off to the charity shop!) and all the files saved on the computer, including the coursework for my exam which was nearly finished! It took an extra large sized box of chocolates and several ‘duvet days’ to get over the shock and although I won’t be able to recover any of the information or photos that were really important to me, at least I know to back my my files in the future now!
