Wedding Venues With Vertigo
You should be feeling as high as a kite on your wedding day (with the emphasis on feeling, not, you know, being), but for that extra buzz nothing beats a spectacular view from way up high. If you are looking for a venue with an amazing view for your wedding, here are four places that come with free vertigo.
With an iconic backdrop and twenty-nine floors up, Altitude 360 is the largest riverside venue with views of the heart of London. The panoramic views of the city from Millbank Tower contrast with an elegant interior of bright-white marble floors and black leather furnishings.
The versatile space can accommodate a small private ceremony up to a large wedding reception for 600 people with its sound-proof, retractable walls. This venue has played host to celebrities including The Kooks, Jeremy Clarkson and Prince Andrew. So, The Kooks. Just.
How much to hire: 0800-1800hrs £9,000, 1800-0000hrs £15,000
What you can see: London’s most famous landmarks, including The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and The River Thames. People looking like ants.

The Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth
At Britain’s tallest wedding venue, ceremonies take place 105 metres above the harbour where guests can take in panoramic views stretching up to 23 miles while enjoying a champagne reception and canapés.
Following the ceremony, the red carpet treatment continues on a decorated view deck where newlyweds and their family and friends can enjoy a wedding breakfast banquet while soaking up the idyllic scenery. Perhaps best of all, you can have the tower lit up to a colour of your choice, ask for pink with a dark purple top and see what they say.
How much to hire: £1,100 – £3,600 for up to 70 guests.
What you can see: Panoramic views of the historical Portsmouth harbour and the Solent, twice voted Britain’s sexiest river.

Hope St Hotel is soon to be available for weddings and the views are spectacular. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a rooftop terrace overlooking the city, it’s a stunning space to get wed. The new function area, which has its own private outdoor terrace and can accommodate up to 80 guests, is part of a recent £4.5 million extension to the hotel.
Catering is provided by the hotel’s award-winning restaurant The London Carriage Works, which was named by culinary bible the Hardens Guide as one of the UK’S top 10 restaurants outside London [but more to the point it's one of the editor's personal favourites].
How much to hire: £500 room hire, plus £1000 additional for the evening. Around £75 per head for a wedding breakfast for up to 60 guests.
What you can see: The glass-fronted atrium offers panoramic views of the city’s World Heritage Site, two cathedrals, the River Mersey and the Snowdonian mountain range.

Leibig Dome Snowfield, New Zealand
If you want adventure and the ultimate white wedding way up high, you can fly by helicopter and get hitched above the rest of the world at the Liebig Dome snowfield. Wedding packages include helicopter flights for up to six guests.
