Staggered Goes Stateside

Since Staggered launched in August 2009 we’ve been really lucky, worked bloody hard and had a lot of amazing help and it’s very gratifying to say that we’re now in the position of being the UK’s leading men’s wedding website. That said we’re not going to rest on our laurels and there’s a million things that we’re going to do with the site in the future. And here’s one of them…

Looking at our reader stats for the last 12 months, one thing continued to surprise us – we have a lot of readers from the US.

What made us feel bad though is that because there are significant differences in weddings in the UK and US, a lot of our content isn’t directly useful for these Stateside readers.

If you’re quick you’ll see that there’s an obvious solution to this issue: write some US content. That’s exactly what we thought.

However, this new content very quickly outgrew our idea for a series of posts, then a new blog, then an entire channel on Staggered, until we reach the momentous point we’re at now:

We are launching a US men’s wedding website.

If there’s a way of making something more important than aligning it in the centre of a page and bolding it, I don’t know what it is. Oh, wait, I do!

WE ARE LAUNCHING A US MEN’S WEDDING WEBSITE.

That’s right, over the next couple of months you’ll be hearing more about Staggered US, the amazing brother site to Staggered UK. You don’t even need to update your bookmarks, or learn a new web address, as the US version of the site will simply appear at www.iamstaggered.com if you’re accessing it from the States (but don’t worry you can still choose to get access the UK version, and vice versa).

We knew that we needed an American to run Staggered US site (because what could us Brits tell you about your weddings!) and we wanted someone with impeccable writing and editorial experience, as well as someone who got what Staggered is about. Fortunately, our US editor has all of these and more in part because she’s written for Staggered UK from Day One. So please say a reserved and polite British hello to the Staggered US Editor, the really rather wonderful Brenda Della Casa.
