Q&A On Your Wedding Day Video

We would like to have a video of our wedding day, but our vicar has told us that we can’t have any cameras at all during the church service. How can we include the service and the vows in the video if we’re not allowed to film in church?
My advice would be to not get married there. However, I’m almost certain that this is where you regularly attend service. So, a unique idea would be to have your videographer film each of you reading your vows to each other before the ceremony. If he or she is creative enough they can capture the moments outside the church to give you that feeling of what it was like during your ceremony.
My fiancée and I have hired a videographer and a photographer for our wedding day. What preparation and planning should we do to ensure that we capture all the happy memories of the day and so that everyone is included in the pictures and on the video itself?
If you have ideas of what you want your wedding day film to look like, make sure to express this to your videographer. On the day of your wedding there are so many crucial moments, that it is very important to have a detailed schedule of your day to assist the person filming your wedding on where to be and what to do.
For our couples, we have them fill out wedding day homework (a sheet with a few simple questions that helps us be everywhere they’d want us to be) to get us both on the same page. It may be an important question to ask your videographer whether or not they have something like this in place. If “No” is there answer, I would say it’s a deal breaker and I would find someone else.
My fiancee has this crazy notion that she wants to make a video of our wedding day and to recreate Scott and Charlene’s wedding in Neighbours. To me this seems very cheesy and I would rather have a traditional video to remember the day by – but she is set on it. What do you suggest we can do to compromise?
How about for compromise you do Scott and Charlene’s version with undertones of Wedding Crashers with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Women can sometimes come up with the craziest ideas and the only way to really catch a fox is to act like one. So go crazy and enjoy being creative with her idea. This way she’ll either decide she was wrong or you might just get to create some of the best film of all time.
