How To Look Good On Your Wedding Video

Choosing to have a videographer at your wedding is still something that a lot of people file under the Undecided category. Part of the reason for that is that many people feel uncomfortable when someone’s pointing a video camera at them. We thought we’d ask the delightful Rob from ElmanAdam Films to give us some pointers on how you can get ready for your close-up…

Like most people, bride and grooms are terrible on camera. People completely misunderstand what it is they are to do once that lens is pointing towards them. From saying akward things to acting stiffer then a board, the stars of the day sometimes lack the lustre to compliment their beautiful ceremony.

If this is something you’re worried about, well then, worry no more because we have a few ways to make sure you look like the belle of the ball (and not because you are shaped like one).

First, it should go without saying, but act normal. Pay no attention to us and don’t feel like you have to address the camera, because contrary to what you believe, no one wants to hear you say, “someone get me a beer”.

Next, smile and have a good time. People look terrible when they act terrible. This is the biggest day of your life and no matter what happens you should remember that it’s a joyous occasion.

Thirdly, allow the videographer to do his job. You may think, “why is he filming me put my dress on, what a perve” and you may be right. But in most cases you are going to want to see that moment when you transform into the girl getting prepared for her day, to the lady who is ready to be married.

Lastly, treat your wedding videographer the way you would want to be treated. The more excitement you have towards that guy in black, the more excited he is going to be with your edit. If he feels like he was treated like your best bud, he is going to do whatever it takes to make you happy. However, if he feels like you think he’s that creepy aunt that gives teeth kisses, he most likely will want to finish before he even starts.

Great videos, they captured the emotions well and you can tell they put a lot of time into them.
