Brides Allowed
So, I recently got engaged. And yep, clearly I’m a girl. So, this being a site for men and all, you’re probably thinking I should sign off right there and start writing for one of those wedding mags with pink lettering on the cover and incessant wedding dress ads instead.
Well, you see, the thing is that I think I fit in better over here with you guys. I haven’t been planning my wedding for years, hanging pillowcases off the back of my head (do people really do that by the way?!) and compiling a scrapbook of pictures of flowers and bridesmaids dresses. Neither have I, now I’ve got a diamond on my finger, become incapable of talking about anything other than taffeta and lace or what shape the cake should be.
Just like you (I imagine, feel free to tell me if I’m wrong) I just want a lovely, informal wedding where everyone has a great time and nobody cries because the napkins don’t match the chair covers. I want a cracking venue, tasty food and enough booze to keep everyone dancing.
So, if that’s what you’re after but, like me, you haven’t got a single clue where to begin, follow my journey up the aisle from bewildered fiancée to (hopefully) calmly composed bride and we’ll face it all together. I’ll try not to veer off into bridezilla-land and, if I do, you can alert me before my fiancé finds out…
